Charlotte Rose USA is the new ILCA 6 Women’s World Champion, the first non-European winner in 20 years. Yet Europe’s strength ran deep, with Emma Plasschaert BEL and Anna Munch DEN taking Silver and Bronze, and every other sailor in the top ten hailing from Europe.
Jonatán Vadnai HUN made history today, becoming Hungary’s first-ever ILCA 7 Men’s World Champion. Mickey Beckett GBR claimed Bronze, meaning two of the three podium spots went to Europe, and seven of the top ten finishers overall were European sailors.

Building breeze up to 14 knots capped off a thrilling final day in Thessaloniki, crowning champions at the 2026 ILCA 6 Youth Europeans. Hermione Ghicas GRE and Jiri Tomes CZE took the top titles, as EurILCA thanks the Nautical Athletic Club of Kalamaria Thessaloniki for a memorable championship.
A late start due to light wind didn’t stop the fleets in Thessaloniki, with both boys’ and girls’ groups getting away in 5 to 8 knots and completing two races, bringing the total to 10 races ahead of the championship’s final day.
The final series opened in style in Thessaloniki, with all six fleets completing both scheduled races under ideal conditions of 9 to 12 knots. Sailors were welcomed back to the club with a pasta meal after a smooth day on the water.
