Fifth day in a row with excellent sailing conditions at the 2021 EurILCA Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy in Varna, Bulgaria. Strong wind and a big swell (plus cold weather and rain) challenged one more time our brave sailors strengths.
The racing started at 11:00 this morning as per scheduled, with the ILCA 7 Gold and Silver fleets coming first.
The ILCA 6 Women and ILCA 6 Men classes were called to start their first races at 14:00, but when they arrived to the course the Race Committee was preparing a third race for the ILCA 7 so they had to wait for a while to start. When it was finally the girl’s turn, the anxiety on this fleet showed up again with half of the fleet over the line, so the RC was forced to ask for a general recall and try a new start with a black flag.
But in between, the ILCA 7 Silver fleet was coming to their inner loop’s gate so the ILCA 6 races were delayed a little bit more.
Finally both ILCA 6 fleets could have 2 new races so all the 3 classes are counting 9 now in total on their scores before the last day coming tomorrow.
